Masked assailants attempted to abduct the daughter and grandson of Paymium’s CEO in a brazen daytime attack captured on video. The would-be kidnappers fled after a shopkeeper intervened with a fire extinguisher, marking the latest in a series of crypto-linked abductions plaguing France.

This failed attempt follows successful kidnappings targeting French crypto figures earlier this year. In January, Ledger co-founder David Ballard and his wife were taken hostage and ransomed. Two months later, armed men abducted the father of a local crypto millionaire before police intervention.

The pattern reflects growing security concerns as cryptocurrency wealth becomes more visible. Parisian authorities now face mounting pressure to protect high-profile industry participants from increasingly audacious criminal tactics.
